Try acetone. Acetone is a universal solvent. In college chemistry lab nosotros used information technology to clean glassware that had all kinds of funky stuff in it and it would dissolve everything and go out the drinking glass sparkling make clean. Information technology was also used to make clean equipment between experiments.

I tried all the suggestions for tree sap, WD40 to alcohol. Rubbing alcohol was decent, residue, not really. Then I tried well everything else under the sink. Here's 2 cleaners not mentioned that work really well. Fantastic dissolves it, only lite rubbing required.
Ammonia really dissolves information technology, keep it moist and rub lightly. A spray of Fantastic added some subs, keeping it from running off or drying too quick. 20 mins later, no trace of tree sap and no impairment. :)

Dab a bit of butter or soft margarine on the sap. Wait a minute or two, then rub it off with a paper towel. This tip was given to me from a auto body repair shop. And so simple...and it works. I've tried it on car and boat glass, motorcar and boat paint and even my fingers!

Question: Removing Holly Tree Sap from Drinking glass Patio Doors?
We simply moved into a townhouse with a big holly tree in the dorsum thou. Our patio doors have spots that look like h2o spots. We take had some success with Windex, Goo-Gone, and a razor bract. However, information technology is a very fourth dimension consuming process. Since the holly tree branches cover the whole back thousand, I can only assume that information technology is acquired by sap or something from the tree. Might there be a specific chemical that can remove these spots?
